For the summer session, 23 individual or group artists unfold their works with curator Kenji Kubota. In the town of Ishinomaki and the newly added area around the Onagawa Station, we will see a lot of works in relation to the human society, and on the Oshika Penisula, rich in nature, many works would remind us of the relationship between people and nature.
Musician Takeshi Kobayashi will produce the installation work based on the songs created in the 10th year after the earthquake, as well as some music programs that will also be available online. We will express a world of sound that can only be deepened and played at this time and place.
The chefs representing Ishinomaki, along with local producers and renowned chefs from around Japan, will rediscover potential of food/dishes from Ishinomaki. Besides the chefs’ sessions, symposiums and markets, there will be popular events such as food adventure, restaurant and eatery. They will provide people with unique eating experiences and disseminate hints for the sustainability for the future.
There are two tour courses: one is to visit part of the Central Ishinomaki and the Oshika Peninsula to see new works, and the other is to mainly visit the Oshika Peninsula and go further to Ayukawa. There is also a premium tour, which is a two-day night-over tour visiting Onagawa in addition and participating in the experience-based program. For each tour, participants gather in front of the Ishinomaki Station in the morning and have a guided bus tour to view the artworks efficiently.
It is efficient to move around by car to view the artworks scattered central Ishinomaki, around Onagawa station and the Oshika Peninsula. Here are model courses to tour by your car or a rental car.
